ATHENS, Alabama, August 17,2022 --- We are thrilled our Limestone County Career Technical Center is one of four north Alabama schools selected to be a pilot for a new Modern Manufacturing Program spearheaded by local industry leaders.

The Modern Manufacturing Program (MMP), which launched Wednesday, is designed for high school students to provide career pathways into the rapidly growing manufacturing industry.
“This is the result of an ongoing initiative to provide unique opportunities for our students while supporting the efforts of workforce and economic development,” said Dr. John Wilson, Director of the Limestone County Career Technical Center. “We are tremendously thankful for the support of all stakeholders and can’t wait to see the student outcomes of this program.”
Aligned with industry standards, the Modern Manufacturing program immerses high school students in hands-on training that prepares them for direct entry into industry or further training.
Students have the opportunity to earn multiple industry certifications in high school while also learning employability skills like teamwork and punctuality. Once their secondary education is complete, Modern Manufacturing students may opt to enroll in industry-lead community college programs or immediately enter the workforce.
