The Limestone County Board of Education approved a ticket price increase for athletic events during its board meeting Tuesday night. This is due to the rise of cost in officials and security. Effective August 22, 2024, ticket prices will be as follows:
Varsity football adult tickets: $10
Adult tickets for all other sports: $8
Student tickets will remain at $5. There will also be no charge for general parking.
Earlier today Senator Tim Melson stopped by several of our schools to drop off athletic supplies for the upcoming season. Thank you senator for your support of our schools and communities!





THANK YOU: The last several weeks Jimmy Smith Buick-GMC, has been collecting school supplies for our students. Thanks to their efforts, Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse was able to deliver those supplies to Tanner Elementary School today.
We appreciate the generosity of our community, and the staff at Jimmy Smith for their support of our schools.


Members of the local media had a chance to talk with our football coaches and players about the upcoming season during our annual Limestone County Media Day today sponsored by TOC-The Orthopaedic Center.





Welcome to the LCS Family! This morning Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse greeted a room full of new teachers who will be joining our district for the upcoming school year. We wish each of them the best as they begin their new adventure!



The East Limestone High School fishing team recently captured the 2024 Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association's High School State Championship. On Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse and board members recognized them for their achievement.






Our Summer of Achievement in Reading (SOAR) and 21st Century programs are off to a great start at all of our elementary schools! Through these summer programs students are able to participate in science, technology, enrichment, art, and music (STEAM) activities, as well as get reading and math instruction.

Due to the lingering threat of severe weather and anticipated flooding issues, Limestone County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay Thursday, May 9,2024. Please stay safe and weather aware throughout the night.
Our 2nd Annual After-School Robotics Expo was held today in Carter Gymnasium on the campus of Athens State University. Middle School teams from all six high schools held demonstrations throughout the morning. Team 34 Robotics was on hand as well.






The Limestone County Career Technical Center held a signing day for 41 seniors Wednesday. During the event, students either signed letters of intent to become employees at local businesses or to join a post secondary program at Calhoun Community College.






Students in the Advanced Ag program are helping with the local 4-H Pig Squeal taking place Saturday. The students have spent the last week building pins for the animals. Over 18 youth from Limestone County have been raising their hogs for the past 4 months to get them to weight.





It was a beautiful day for Special Olympics! Congratulations to all of our students who competed. We are SO proud of you!




EYES TO THE SKY: Our LCS students, faculty, and staff had their eyes to the sky this afternoon, taking in the great solar eclipse of 2024.










Due to the threat of severe weather forecast for tomorrow, all Limestone County Schools will operate on the following early dismissal schedule Tuesday, April 2: Elementary Schools will dismiss at 11:40 a.m. and High Schools at noon. All after school activities are canceled.

The Limestone County Middle and High School Honor Bands took the stage Tuesday night at Clements Baptist Church for their annual concert. The band is made up of students from all six Limestone County high schools as well as Athens High School.



Cedar Hill Elementary had a rockin' afternoon Friday. The faculty and staff held a Rock the Test pep rally for 2nd-5th grades ahead of next week's ACAP testing to pump them up and encourage them to do their best.







The final College and Career Fair of the school year wrapped up today at East Limestone High School. Students had the chance to speak with a number of representatives from colleges, military forces, and business while exploring post secondary options.





Our elementary scholars bowl teams competed in the county tournament today at Owens. Creekside took top honors, followed by Sugar Creek in second, and Johnson in third. Wesley Hampton of Johnson Elementary was the overall high scorer.




FOR THE LOVE OF READING: We had a surprise visitor stop by the Central Office this morning. ⚾️🚀📚
Sprocket with the Rocket City Trash Pandas met with our reading specialists and gave them information on the Reading with Sprocket program.
