Sprocket with the Rocket City Trash Pandas met with our reading specialists and gave them information on the Reading with Sprocket program.




Today, students from across Limestone County got a preview of what life will be like post-graduation. Thanks to a partnership with the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service, and numerous local volunteers, the students had the opportunity to participate in Your Money, Your Life, a program dedicated to helping young people understand the financial responsibilities they will face as they earn a living in the real world.






Superintendent Dr. Randy Shearouse recognized Sucely Vicente, a Junior from West Limestone High School, during Tuesday night's board meeting. Vicente was recently selected as the only student in the state to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum: Law & CSI through the FBI.

Our principals and administration staff enjoyed participating in the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce's annual Partners in Education Breakfast this morning at Athens State University. We appreciate our Partners in Education and all they do for our schools!



It was a pleasure to have Limestone County Commission Chairman Collin Daly and Commissioner Derrick Gatlin on the Limestone County Career Tech campus today to proclaim February as Career and Technical Education Month.




Welcome back! We plan to have school as normal on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. We look forward to seeing everyone!
After monitoring road and campus conditions throughout the day today, we have decided to remain closed on Tuesday, January 23. We will re-evaluate conditions tomorrow in order to make a decision about Wednesday, however, at this time, please make preparations to return to campus January 24.
UPDATED COUNTY TOURNAMENT BRACKET: Modifications have been made to the Limestone County Basketball Tournament based on the availability of referees.
On Thursday, January 25, there will be 4 Middle School games played at Elkmont. All other games will be played at East Limestone.

Due to ice still impacting many secondary roads throughout the county, Limestone County Schools will be closed Monday, January 22, 2024. We will continue to monitor road conditions, however, as of now, we plan to resume school on Tuesday.
COUNTY TOURNEY UPDATE: The Limestone County Basketball Tournament will be played January 22-27 at East Limestone High School. Cash tickets will be $6 Monday through Thursday and $7 for the Finals on Saturday. GoFan tickets will also be available for the same price, but will have a $1 fee per ticket.

Due to ice still impacting many of the roads across the county, as well as on our campuses, Limestone County Schools will be closed Thursday and Friday, January 18 and 19, for the safety of our faculty, staff, and students. Please continue to stay safe and stay warm.
Limestone County Schools will remain closed Tuesday and Wednesday, January 16 and 17, 2024, due to impacts from snow and ice, as well as dangerously low temperatures and wind chills. We will continue to monitor conditions for the remainder of the week. Please stay safe and stay warm.
WILLIE GREAT TIME: We welcomed nearly 1,000 employees to Clements High School Tuesday morning as part of our annual county-wide meeting. It was an honor to have The Willie Spears Experience join us to help kick-off 2024 and the second half of the school year!

Dr. Shearouse was greeted with warm hugs and high-fives.
Friday afternoon, Shearouse stopped by Ms. Fletcher's first-grade class to read 'Pig the Elf' to her students. They assured the superintendent their lists to Santa were no where near as long as Pig's.



CELEBRATE: Monday was a day of celebration across the District as we honored our exceptional educators and support personnel who have made an impact on the lives of students. This year, we are pleased to announce Ms. Rhonda Hacker, of Cedar Hill Elementary as our Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Dr. Brittian Anderson of West Limestone High School as our Secondary Teacher of the year. Ms. Magan Stewart of West Limestone High School is our Educational Support Person of the year.




It's #GivingTuesday, and earlier today, representatives from Mazda Toyota Manufacturing, gifted our Career Tech Center $10,000! This will be used to purchase an injection mold trainer, which will complete the Certified Production Technician Assembly Line.

ON A ROLL: Excitement filled the air inside the Madison Bowling Alley Thursday. After a brief break for several years, our Special Olympic student athletes were finally able to return to the lanes.





Eighth grade students from across the District had the chance to engage with local business and industry leaders Friday as part of the Endless Opportunities Career Fair. While there, they were enlightened
about jobs and opportunities that await them after high school.










Math is not so scary! 🕸️🕷️
On Thursday parents and guardians of second grade students at Piney Chapel Elementary had a chance to learn math strategies with their children during a Lunch and Learn. They used toy spiders to make even groups.








It’s College Application Week, and as part, students at Ardmore High School spent Tuesday morning applying to schools of their choice. During this week, over 50 colleges and universities across the state have waived their application fees.
